Trip to Heifer International Farm

April 5, 2014 @ 8:45 am - 1:30 pm

In support of our ongoing outreach toward Heifer International, Children’s Christian Education is sponsoring a special opportunity for children, youth, families, and interested adults from our church to visit the Heifer Farm in nearby Rutland, Massachusetts.  The trip will take place on Saturday, April 5th, leaving from the church at 8:45am, and returning at about 1:30pm.  This trip is funded by Children’s Christian Education, so there will be no cost to individuals.

At the Heifer Farm, we will enjoy a program called “Animal Connections,” a very special hands-on experience learning about how people around the world benefit from raising animals and farming.   Our two-and-a-half hour program will begin at 10:00am, and include an introduction, video, tour, and hands-on experiences that may include goat milking, wool spinning, egg collecting, and hopefully, an opportunity to see brand new baby lambs!

Space is limited, and registration is available on a first-come, first serve basis, with the priority being given to Sunday School children and youth.   Parents are invited, but not required to attend, unless their child needs to ride in a car seat.  It is suggested that we limit space to one parent per family initially, and a second parent may attend if space is available.  Adults from the church are also welcome if space is available.

All registration materials and information will be available at a sign-up table during coffee hour from February 16 – March 9th, so please sign up as early as possible.  The deadline for registration is March 9th.  Please look for Kate Hoffman at the Heifer display table in Fellowship Hall during coffee hour to sign-up and find out more about this wonderful opportunity!
