Supper and a Movie
November 5 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
We invite you to join us November 5th , for supper and a movie. Along with good fellowship and delicious food, we’ll be watching a movie that invites us toward compassion and transformation.
We will be watching the movie Gran Torino, a story of curmudgeonly Korean War veteran Walt who confronts his Hmong immigrant neighbors—and his own prejudices—when their teenage son Thao tries to steal Walt’s beloved 1972 Gran Torino. Walt gradually assumes the unlikely role of guardian angel to young Thao. We will provide a simple supper of a variety of soups and breads. We envision the evening this way:
6:00 — supper in Fellowship Hall
6:45 — movie begins in the Meeting House Room, followed by discussion
9:00 or earlier — homeward bound
Feel free to speak to any of us of your interest in coming: Don Donihue, Lorain Giles, Karen Hyvonen, Randy Purinton, Anita Sarro.
