Front Lawn Vigil for Economic Justice Nov. 24 10am
November 24 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am
Have you noticed our monthly vigils?
About once a month, Center Church community members and friends from the larger community have been gathering in “our front yard” to raise awareness about important social justice concerns. Recent vigils have focused on health care as a human right, justice for LGBT people, gun safety, the economy, and global warming. The response to our vigils has generally been positive. We tend to get a good number of honks and waves. Some folks avoid looking at us, even at long red lights, but that’s fine, too – we’re just there to raise awareness, and we never know if we’re planting a seed. Everyone is welcome at the vigils. We try to make them as convenient as possible by having signs ready-made and only standing for a half-hour, as we all have obligations and errands on our weekends.
If you feel so moved, we hope you will join us November 24th at 10am.
